ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Leading Hand, you’ll be responsible for leading a small team and making sure all site activities are carried out effectively. You’ll work closely with the Site Supervisor to keep things running smoothly, and your experience in subdivisions and earthworks will help you greatly with this position. You will also have the opportunity to stand in when the Supervisor is not present.
DUTIES.
- Lead your team on-site, making sure tasks are done safely and efficiently
- Keep track of materials and equipment to make sure everything is in place when needed
- Work with the Site Supervisor to meet project deadlines and maintain safety standards
- Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets project specifications.
- Hands on duties and leading by example
- Previous experience working in civil construction, particularly on subdivisions and earthworks projects
- Experience running a small crew on site
- Good communication skills to work with your team and site management
- A strong understanding of site safety and the ability to enforce it
