ABOUT THE POSITION.
This role is responsible for leading best practice in asset management across Council’s Fleet, Depot, and Logistical Assets. It ensures strategic planning, data integrity, lifecycle costing, and operational resilience in line with Council’s Asset Management Policies and ISO55000 standards. The position plays a key role in driving efficiencies, preparing budgets and plans, overseeing maintenance and renewal programs, and contributing to business continuity and emergency preparedness.
DUTIES.
- Lead Strategic Asset Management : Develop and implement long-term Asset Management Plans and policies for Fleet, Depot, and Logistical Assets, ensuring alignment with ISO55000 and Council strategies.
- Optimise Asset Lifecycle : Apply whole-of-life asset principles to inspection, maintenance, renewal, and replacement programs to ensure long-term value and performance.
- Financial Oversight : Prepare budgets based on condition data and lifecycle costs; collaborate with Finance and other departments to ensure accurate forecasting and cost management.
- Asset Data & Systems : Ensure accurate, up-to-date asset data and GIS mapping; lead the adoption and integration of fleet management systems across departments.
- Business Continuity & Emergency Response : Maintain a business continuity plan for key assets and contribute to Council’s emergency operations and resilience planning.
- Grant Management & Compliance : Lead the preparation of grant applications for asset-related projects, manage funding agreements, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Experience in asset management and lifecycle planning (ISO 55000 desirable)
- Knowledge of fleet, depot, and logistics operations and maintenance
- Proficient in asset systems and GIS data management
- Ability to manage projects, contracts, and grant applications
- Experience developing strategic plans and policies
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Asset Management
